Hugh O'Connor (1894-1967) was a civil engineer, veteran, writer, and editor. O'Connor began his career as a writer after his service as an artillery officer in World War I. He became a reporter for the New York Evening Sun . He then took a leave of absence to work in an European textile scheme, and in 1920 reported unofficially on political unrest in Germany.
